(Cover) - EN Star Style - Patrick Dempsey would shave his hair for a film role.

The 45-year-old US actor is well-known for portraying neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd on hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy, as well as enjoying a successful movie career.

The star is famed for luscious dark locks, but Patrick says he would consider shaving off his trademark tresses if it was for a film role.

Despite being renowned for his hair, Patrick says he doesn't hold it in such high regard.

"Oh, absolutely," he confessed when asked if he would shave his hair. "I'm aware of what people say about my hair, but I don't take it too seriously. It's fun to have a hair campaign, but of course, I'd change it for a role. I love doing stuff like that."

Patrick has three kids with wife Jillian Fink; nine-year-old daughter Tallulah Fyfe and twin sons Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen, four.

The hunky star has joked that his tresses are the feature that first attracted his wife to him.

"I think it was probably my hair that impressed her," he smiled in an interview with Elle magazine. (C) Cover Media
