Rupert Grint surprised a tragedy-stricken family at a Harry Potter theme park.
The British actor is famed for his role as Ron Weasley in the hugely successful fantasy film franchise. Rupert put his popularity to good use recently when he granted a Christmas gift for a heartbroken family as part of a TV show.
The Carters were struck by tragedy when mother Denise died after giving birth to her and husband Steve's fourth child in 2009. Steve is now bringing up his three sons and daughter by himself.
The family were treated to a host of gifts as part of a television show called Noel's Christmas Presents - hosted by Noel Edmonds - which included a trip to Florida.
And Rupert was on hand to give the family a personal tour of the Harry Potter theme park.
The 23-year-old star asked the children about their favourite part of the park, and they said the Dragon Challenge ride.
"I went on it four times in a row, after a lot of these Butterbeers. I did not feel good," he replied to the young children.
Rupert also accompanied the family to the souvenir shop, and told them: "You can't come here without getting a wand. I would keep them in the box though, in the wrong hands they can be pretty dangerous. So be careful."
Denise's sister Roisin accompanied the family on the trip and said Rupert's appearance was a wonderful surprise for them all.
"It's been a rollercoaster of emotions. You see how happy they are but obviously there is a reason why this has all happened to them. That is very sad. But this has given them so much happiness and they are more than deserving of it."
Father Steve added: "The best thing was the look on the kids' faces. There are great memories and I know Denise was watching over us on the trip."
