Russell Brand was spotted flirting with a mystery brunette over the weekend.

The British comic star is currently single after announcing his split from wife Katy Perry last year. Although he has recently been romantically linked to artist Oriela Medellin Amieiro, who he met at yoga lessons, Russell has now been seen asking another girl for her phone number in New York City.

The star reportedly spotted a "20-something" brunette while he was dining with two friends at La Esquina eatery and decided he wanted to get to know her better.

"Outside the restaurant, Russell approached a girl and asked her for her number, telling her she was perfect,'" a source told New York Post.

After the pretty lady handed over her number, Russell reportedly promised to get in touch.

"He called her ten minutes later," the source added. "[They were] texting all weekend, but haven't met up yet."

Russell was in New York for Amnesty International's Secret Policeman's Ball.

The comic star's ex has also been enjoying her single status.

Pop star Katy partied in Paris over the weekend. She is said to have "danced the night away" at a This is New York event at Le Regine.
