(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Russell Brand had to run away after he was mobbed by fans in London.

The British comic star is easily recognisable when he is in public. With his long dark hair and tight trousers, he rarely manages to keep a low-profile. Russell was in England on Tuesday and decided to visit the capital city for some festive cheer.

He was taking a leisurely walk around Winter Wonderland, which is held in Hyde Park, when a fan spotted him. As the admirer expressed their delight by shrieking loudly, Russell attracted the attention of a group of guys.

The lads began singing songs by his wife Katy Perry and within a few minutes a "huge crowd" was trailing Russell.

"Almost 100 people were following him so he had to get out of there," a source told British newspaper The Sun. "One bunch were shouting, 'Where's your missus?' and singing Firework.

"It can't have been nice for him."

The 36-year-old soon grew tired of being followed and decided to make a hasty getaway.

"Russell had to run for cover as he got mobbed," the publication reported. (C) Cover Media
