(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Russell Brand has swapped sex for gardening since getting married.

The notorious ladies man has received treatment for drug and sex addiction in the past, and has been open about his sexual appetite. He was so renowned for his womanising ways that many were shocked when he began dating singer Katy Perry in 2009, and then when they quickly got engaged.

The couple wed last year and Russell says married life is treating him well. He is still getting used to it though, revealing there have been many changes to his way of life.

I can't believe I used to have sex 20 times a week, especially now I'm married. But now I'm a bl***y good gardener, he told Piers Morgan for an episode of his Life Stories show airing in the UK next month.

My peak was probably five a day. It was a bit much. I was always respectful though.

Russell, 35, is blissfully happy with his 26-year-old wife but admits he doesnt spend much time thinking about the future. He prefers to live in the present and thinks that is more helpful when it comes to keeping control of his addictions.

I take it one step at a time - like with drugs, like with alcohol, he replied, when asked if hed manage to sleep with just one person forever.

Don't look at things as in 'rest of life'. Of course marriage is for life and that's what I wanted but anything for the rest of life can be daunting.

The comedian added it was difficult when he first told Katy about his past. As shes from America she wasnt that familiar with him and his work, and also hadnt heard gossip about his colourful love life.

I don't think she knew the extremes of it because I wasn't famous in America, he revealed. I told her like an idiot, as I was so dazzled by the change. So I had to tell her, 'Look at what I'm not doing.' Yeah, she was shocked but she's a pretty solid person."

There have been reports Russell and Katy have been receiving marriage counselling, which he has dismissed. The star insists he and his wife dont let speculation get to them, as theyd go mad if they did.

The couple also spend a great deal of time together, despite what many think. Russell is carving out a movie career while Katy has been promoting her music lately so it had been thought they were apart most of the time, but that couldnt be further from the truth.

We do spend quite a lot of time together. I see her a lot, that's what marriage is, you like it or lump it. She's always around, he said.

"I've never been in love before Katy, as now I rate love as being willing to change for someone. What it boils down to is us two in a room somewhere, we chit chat, and it's normal, with love and support."

He added the pair would love a family once they have been married a bit longer, although he isnt sure how his past will affect his parenting style.

I'm aware I have no recourse if they misbehave. 'Expelled from school for drugs? Well done, you're on target, he laughed. (C) Cover Media
