Veteran Tamil actress S N Lakshmi died in Chennai this morning. She was 85. Her cremation will take place at her native place Virudhunagar on Tuesday.

Lakshmi had acted in more than 1000 films and some of her memorable films are "Michael Madhana Kamarajan", "Mahanadhi", "Kadhala Kadhala" and "Rhythm".

She had acted with ace actors like M G Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Ajith and Vijay. She was also popular for her roles in television serials, including Thendral which is currently in air.

According to family sources, Lakshmi recently suffered an injury after she fell down. She suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared as dead by doctors.
