Sarah Jessica Parker: I am flawed

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sarah Jessica Parker insists she's just as "human" as everybody else.

The American actress plays Kate Reddy in upcoming comedy I Don't Know How She Does It, which sees her character balancing her demanding career with raising two children.

Jessica has three children with her husband Matthew Broderick. The 46-year-old is so grateful for her wonderful family life, but insists she has just the same issues as her film character when it comes to life's little imperfections.

"Well everything in my life is as flawed and human as everybody else's, but I will say, there's so much that is familiar about Kate's life," she explained.

"There is the great desire to be all things to all people and to set high standards for yourself and to want to have really high expectations and the realisation is that it's better to have realistic expectations."

Sarah and Matthew have been married for 14 years. The stunning star puts the success of her long-term marriage down to give and take.

"It's all about compromises. You can hate somebody for 20 minutes or two days, but it's still a treat to be in a relationship, if that's the person you want to be with," she told British magazine Star. "After a while, a compromise kind of gets marginalised anyway. You don't recall them, it's just what you do to make things work."

Despite appearing in a number of box office hits, Sarah doesn't feel "famous". The star who is best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City says the most important things in her life are enjoyed away from the glare of the public spotlight.

"That's very hard for me to answer as I don't think of myself as famous!" she said when asked if she enjoys fame.

"I think for the most part when I'm not working, I'm just a parent and parenting feels very private to me. It doesn't feel subject to public opinion or scrutiny. To think there's a part of my life [fame] that I don't have any control over it doesn't suit my personality!" (C) Cover Media
