(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver's 13-year-old son has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a surfing accident.

Christopher is recovering in an Intensive Care Unit in a Los Angeles-area hospital following the incident on Sunday, which has left him with "multiple broken bones and a collapsed lung", according to US website TMZ.

The publication also reported that Maria has "constantly" been at her son's side, while Arnold has also been a "regular visitor".

People magazine added that "Maria has not left his side and is sleeping at hospital".

In spite of Arnold and Maria's divorce, it has been reported that the family have come together following the accident. The pair began court proceedings this week to end their 25-year marriage, which broke down after it was revealed that Arnold had fathered a child with another woman.

Earlier this week, the actor and former governor of California indicated in his divorce filing that he does not want to pay spousal support to Maria or cover her attorney's fees. (C) Cover Media
