(Cover) - EN Movies - Selena Gomez doesn't want to be typecast, instead planning to try her hand at "everything".

The 19-year-old is best known for playing Alex Russo in Disney television series Wizards of Waverly Place, and she's currently promoting romantic comedy Monte Carlo.

Selena portrays an American student who takes on the guise of a British socialite while holidaying in Monte Carlo, and as much as she enjoyed the light-hearted role, she wants to tackle grittier parts in the future.

"I want to try everything. I want to do comedy, thrillers, romance, drama everything!" she told more! magazine.

Selena mastered a posh English accent for the role, although is shy about using it now. The actress spent a fortnight studying the well-spoken voice, and traded US words such as mom for the British equivalent.

"We filmed it over a year ago, so I do it horribly now. At the time I had two weeks of training, it was intense. I said Mummy' a lot, and words like errands'," she smiled.

Monte Carlo also stars Leighton Meester, best known for her role in US teen drama Gossip Girl. Selena was thrilled to have the chance to work with the actress, and they got along swimmingly.
