Designer Manish Malhotra and Actress Shabana Azmi have managed a coup of sorts by bringing together Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, Ranbir Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra for a night of glamour and social awareness.
The 'Men For Mijwan' charity fashion show was a huge hit with not only the dapper men of Bollywood walking the ramp, but also the best Bollywood beauties attending the show.
Sonakshi Sinha, Sushmita Sen, Kajol, Parineeti Chopra, Jaya Bachchan, Neetu Singh, Kalki Koechlin, Aditi Rao Hydari and many others were seen in attendance.
"To Manish goes the credit of enhancing the chikankari skills of our Mijwan women and bringing their craft to the doorstep of Bollywood. He has given the women of Mijwan a means of livelihood because of which their status within the family has changed, and they are now being regarded as an asset to the family," Shabana had said in an interview earlier.
'Men For Mijwan' by Manish Malhotra is in support of MWS, an NGO founded by Shabana's father, Kaifi Azmi.The aim of the NGO is to empower rural India with a focus on the girlchild and women, and it is now jointly run by Shabana and her godchild Namrata Goyal.
