It is now confirmed that Bollywood actress Yami Gautam will be seen in 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' opposite Shahid Kapoor. The 29-year-old who was last seen in 'Kaabil' says she is extremely excited to be a part of the film. Yami took to Twitter to express her delight on joining the team as she wrote, "Super happy to commence this special journey with @kriarj on ' Batti Gul Meter Chalu ' :) Really excited for this one #Prerna #Shree @shahidkapoor @ShraddhaKapoor". Whereas Asia's sexiest man and the Padmavati actor welcomed her and wrote,"Great to have you on board."

It is reported that the Shahid's 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' will not be a drama but a quirky comedy. The film deals with some serious issue of corrupt power supply companies and their fraudulent billing systems, which were initially considered to be taking a serious approach.

This social drama flick will go on floors in the second week of February. Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film is set to release on August 31, 2018. Yami will be seen playing a professional lawyer in this film that also stars Shraddha Kapoor.
