Sharon Stone says people "have no idea" what she has been through.
The iconic actress has spoken candidly about the life experiences that have changed her, including a brain haemorrhage, miscarriages and divorce.
The Basic Instinct star doesn't care if she never acts in a hit movie again because nowadays her children and her humanitarian interests are her priorities.
"People call and want me to play parts that I used to play. I'm like, 'You have no idea what I have been through!'" she told AARP The Magazine, before talking frankly about her health scare. "I came out of the hospital with short and long-term memory loss. My lower left leg was numb. I couldn't hear out of my right ear. The side of my face was falling down. I thought, 'I'll never be pretty again. Who's going to want to be around me?'"
Sharon's life has seen as many debilitating lows as it has enjoyed glittering highs. She suffered two miscarriages before adopting her son Roan with then-husband Phil Bronstein. Following their divorce in 2004, her ex took full custody of the boy but Sharon went on two adopt two sons, Laird and Quinn.
Talking about the traumatic loss of two babies and life with her sons now, Sharon appears to have found happiness.
"The last time I lost the baby I went into 36 hours of labour. While we were at the hospital, our adoption attorney called. I thought, 'This is such a godsend. This is so right,'" she revealed. "Quinn is in junior kindergarten, and he's very exclamatory! Like a little FBI agent, he tells you everything that's happening, so I call him Agent Quinn And Laird is like a rocketHe's a big romancer: when you talk to him on the phone, he's like, 'I'm in love with you, Mommy.'"
