While a lot of Bollywood stars have been going against the male chauvinism in the Indian society, actress Shilpa Shetty went around criticizing them in public.
The actress has slammed the detractors for curbing women's freedom and has urged women to stand up for their own integrity.
"It's unfair and ridiculous of people to curb woman's rights and freedom to reduce crime. Why can't we dress glamorous or move out late at night? We cannot always rely on our brothers, fathers or husband for protection. We are not helpless women, but strong individuals. I advise every woman to learn the art of self defense," said Shilpa at DNA Women's Self Defense Camp. It is being held in association with her husband, businessman Raj Kundra's Super Fight League (SFL).
She adds that 'self defense' is the need of the hour. "It is high time that we learn to protect ourselves. This camp is a great way to encourage women in basic self-defense moves as it will boost confidence. The confidence of being capable to defend oneself reflects in your body language. This puts the attacker at a disadvantage," she further added.
