Now she is pinning all her hopes on the film '7aam Arivu' that marks her debut in Kollywood. The actress plays the female lead opposite Suriya, as a scientist.

The actress has rendered a song in the film 'Udhayan'. The film features Arulnidhi of 'Vamsam' fame, with Telugu actress Pranitha starring opposite him in the female lead. The film has the musical score by newcomer Manikanth, who happens to be the son of the famous saxophone player Kadri Gopalnath. Manikanth wanted a song with Shruthi Haasan's voice and when he approached her, got it without any delay.
