September 16, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Maybe, it's disappointing news to hear that Vijay's upcoming release Kaavalan will not hit screens for Diwali. But Siddique's words of assurance about film's quality have elated the fans of Ilayathalapathy. In a recent interview, director Siddique has mentioned that it will be a completely different league of film from Vijay's previous movies. It's a must win situation for actor Vijay as some of his previous films including 50th movie Sura were box office disasters. Indeed, it should have laid whole lot of responsibilities upon director Siddique as he must deliver a hit for Vijay.
But the filmmaker remains cool as cucumber as he says, "The entire theatre will be studded with laugh-riot and enjoy the romantic poignancy."
The film was supposed to hit screens for Diwali. But the issues pertaining to Asin's visit to Sri Lanka for the shooting of Hindi film Ready with Salman Khan has created problems. Executive members of South India Artists Association have been stirring up problems.
However, Siddique and his entire team has banked their hopes on film's producer C Ramesh Babu.
Striking successful chords with Vijay in many films including Thirumalai and Ghilli, music director Vidhyasagar has once again joined hands with him. Ekambaram of Iyarkai fame is handling cinematography.
