Last week, members of the BJP party were involved in a misdeed – making garland of slippers for a cut-out of Silambarasan's 'Vaanam'. Simbu's fan-club members were very disappointed and infuriated over this gesture. Apparently, they decided to protest outside the office of the BJP at Vaidya Raman Street, T. Nagar and it was carried out as planned. Not only in Chennai alone but fan-club members across Tamil Nadu followed the same, protesting outside all the BJP offices of Tamil Nadu.

It all happened because of a particular sequence in the film involving Hindu community members trashing down Muslims and it results in terrorism. Unable to bear that the members of the Hindu Community were involved in such activities, STR fans responded accordingly.
