(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Soulja Boy has angered members of the US military with an "anti-army" rap.
The American hip-hop star sparked controversy due to the lyrics of his new track Let's Be Real, which includes the line: "F**k the FBI and the army troops... fighting for what? Be your own man..."
Now military veterans have demanded an apology from the controversial 21-year-old over his "offensive" lyrics.
Retired marine Fred A. Flores says Soulja Boy - real name DeAndre Coretz Way - should face the consequences of his actions.
"It's a very offensive statement ... especially with the tenth anniversary of 9/11 coming up," he told TMZ. "He should apologise to all armed forces."
Flores says Soulja Boy's lyrics are reckless considering his pop star status. The retired military expert warned the rapper should think more carefully about his messages before sending them to a global audience.
"[The rap] is very irresponsible," he said, "especially for a person who is an entertainer for the youth of our country."
Soulja Boy's representative refused to comment. (C) Cover Media
