SS Rajamouli has a long connection with Chennai as he worked as assistant director for several Tamil movies. During the audio launch of 'Maaveeran', the dubbed version of his Telugu movie 'Magadheera', he said that his dream was to watch the movie on the screens of Sathyam Cinemas and it has come true today. The filmmaker is now busy shooting for his next film but he is planning to fly down to Chennai this Sunday to watch his Tamil version of 'Maaveeran'.

The film features Cheeranjivi's son Ram Charan Teja in the lead role while Kajal Agarwal stars opposite him in the female lead role. MM Keeravani has scored the music for the film and the dialogues in Tamil are written by none other than the ace filmmaker-screenwriter K. Bhagyaraj. The film marks the comeback of veteran producer Allu Aravind after twenty years.
