Stellan Skarsgrd recalls fun' Thor scene

20th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Movies - Stellan Skarsgrd has revealed Kenneth Branagh didn't direct all of the scenes in Thor.

The Swedish actor plays scientist Erik Selvig in the superhero film based on the Marvel Comic books. The film tells the story of Thor, a god who is exiled from his homeland of Asgard to Earth.

In a post-credits scene, the 59-year-old's character has been taken to a facility where Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, asks him to study an unnamed device.

Stellan says Thor's director, Kenneth, didn't create that particular scene.

"No," he replied when asked if the scene was shot with Kenneth. "That was with Joss Whedon who was doing The Avengers."

Stellan has previously worked with Samuel in 1999 action thriller Deep Blue Sea. The star says it was nice to come face to face with his co-star again when filming the scene.

"It was just a couple of months ago and I was happy to meet with Sam again. It was fun seeing him again. I flew over there and went down into a basement, talked to Sam for a few minutes and went home," he said in an interview with Empire.

Stellan is appearing in Joss' upcoming release The Avengers. The actor says he is looking to working on the new science fiction movie, but is not at liberty to discuss the storyline.

"I know what happens to my character in the film, but I'm not allowed to say anything. I'd have to sell my house to pay the fines for that," he laughed. (C) Cover Media
