Stephen Dorff replaces Dillon in Boot Tracks

25th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Movies - Stephen Dorff is set to replace Matt Dillon as the lead in David Jacobson's latest project.

David is adapting US author Matthew F. Jones' 2006 novel Boot Tracks for the big screen, and it had originally been thought that 47-year-old Matt would be male lead in the eponymous movie version.

However, Variety has reported that Stephen will be replacing Matt in the picture, although the specific reasons are not known.

Stephen is set to portray Charlie Rankin, an ex-con who embarks on a romance with a former adult movie star before setting off to complete an honour-killing at the command of a prison pal called Buddha.

Michelle Monaghan and Ray Winstone have also been linked to the film, reportedly portraying Charlie's love interest and Buddha respectively.

Stephen, 37, is best known for his roles in films such as 1998 fantasy horror Blade and last year's Sofia Coppola-directed drama Somewhere. He will next be seen in comedy Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, which is set for international release later this year. (C) Cover Media
