I try to make them laugh all the time and theyre completely over it, he told Londons Heart radio. My family wouldnt vote me the funniest.
Whenever Steve persists with jokes they havent found amusing, son Johnny tells him enough. However, the actor admits whenever he stubs his toe Johnny will have a giggle because the little boy finds anything which leaves [Steve] in pain hilarious.
The talented star also discussed his plans for the future, joking that he would like to play a more sinister role after gaining a reputation as a funnyman. He even went so far as to say he should play a killer in his next project.
I think I need to play a murderer, a devilish horrible person, laughed Steve.
Although he jokes about wanting to showcase a wider range of acting abilities, the star is in fact very happy appearing in light-hearted cinema. Steve says he doesnt feel the need to prove himself as a heavyweight actor and will only take on a more serious part if he feels the role is right for him.
I dont have any pretence about doing dramatic work. I never want to do something to prove to people that I can do it, he added. (C) Cover Media
