Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Shabana Azmi will be narrating poems for a kids show on Disney Channel, while Omi Vaidya will be lending his voice to a character on a cookery show meant for children on the same TV network.

Disney Channel has come with two brand new short series 'A Poem Is' and 'Tasty Time with Chef ZeFronk'. Starting from 19th December onwards, these shows will be aired multiple times daily.

'A Poem Is' is an animated series showcasing poems for children and set amidst scenes and imagery from classic Disney films, including 'Dumbo', 'Bambi' and 'Lady and the Tramp'.

The poems will be narrated by Shabana in Hindi and by Suhasini in Telugu and Tamil.

'Children respond to reading and writing poetry, as it fuels their imagination and creativity and allows them to express themselves. This is a great way to learn, memorize and share experiences.Some of the poems are going to be sentimental and sweet, the kind that will warm a mother's heart, and some of them will be silly and funny to make kids giggle and laugh,' Suhasini said in a statement.
