The man who spoke these golden words is no more between us today… The Eternal superstar who ruled the 70s era of the Indian cinema, Rajesh Khanna passed away today at his residence Aashirwad in Mumbai after suffering from prolonged illness for quite some time now.
Rajesh Khanna started his film career at the age of 24 with Chetan Anand's 'Aakhri Khat'. Having portrayed many immortal characters on-screen in movies including Aradhana (1969), Sachaa Jhutha (1970), Anand (1971), Kati Patang(1971), Amar Prem (1972), Bawarchi (1972), Aavishkar (1973) just to name a few, he was lovingly called as Kaka or simply the first superstar of Indian cinema by his loved ones.
At the peak of his career (1969-1976), Kaka enjoyed a god like status with female fans writing letters in blood to him. The hysteria was unique and unseen before he came into the film industry.
Rajesh Khanna holds record for most number of win for Best actor award in Bengal Film Journalist Association Awards (4 awards) and most number of nominations in BFJA awards (25 nominations) for Best Actor. He has won Filmfare Best Actor Awards for 3 times and was nominated for 14 times.
He formed a great team with singer Kishore Kumar and Music Director R D Burman and together they have given such songs which are immensely popular even today.
