Sylvester Stallone creating clothing line

24th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Sylvester Stallone feels now is the right time to create a fashion line inspired by his action movie roles.

The 64-year-old movie star is known for his tough-guy parts, starring in iconic franchises such as the Rocky and Rambo films.

Sylvester feels the often skimpy and muscle-baring attire his characters have worn throughout his career have always been fundamental in helping him get into character, and he feels hes in the perfect position to launch a clothing line for men.

"I thought the time is now," Stallone told Men's Health Week. "I've lived a life where I know what has worked and what hasn't worked. Clothing is the first step to building a character. I hope that what worked for me will work for others. I really believe I have an understanding of the male psyche on all levels. I want to expose people to things that will work and this is the apropos time. I'm not experienced in this field, but we have the proper team to move this vision along."

The collection is due to launch in 2012 and will feature denim items, as well as smarter shirts and outerwear. The price range has not yet been determined, although it is thought the line will be aimed at men between the ages of 25 and 40.

"I know it's 11 years later, but I'm more experienced," he told WWD. "I pay a great deal of attention to the way I dress. When men learn to put things together, they start taking care of themselves better." (C) Cover Media
