(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow are in competition to lose weight.The Take That stars have vowed to get fit before their European tour kicks off this summer, and the pair have a four-figure bet riding on who can shift the most pounds from their new strict diet plans.Robbie, 37, has revealed that he instigated the contest with bandmate Gary while he and the rest of the band were at his Los Angeles home."Me and Gary vary in weight. We go up and down by the week. Gary and the boys were at my house in LA last week when Gary turns to me and says, 'I won't be needing these clothes soon, do you want them?' 'cos he's going on a diet, he told British newspaper The Sun. "That was the day I thought, 'Right, if you're eating a lettuce, I'm eating half a lettuce.' There is now a serious game on to see who can get the thinnest for the tour.Robbie is using Christian Bales character in The Machinist as his weight-loss inspiration. Christian, 37, lost more than 60 lbs for his role in the film that portrayed a man suffering from insomnia. Robbie has joked that he is using the actors extreme weight loss as his motivation."You know The Machinist with Christian Bale? I'm going for Christian Bale," he quipped.The popular British band have hired a personal trainer ahead of their tour in May. Take That, comprising of Robbie, Gary, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange, have challenged each other before.
