It is not just Bollywood directors who are following the South remake funda, but also directors from South are following suit.
Veteran Kollywood director K. S. Ravikumar is planning his maiden venture in Hindi Cinema, which is a remake of Vikram starrer 'Saamy'. The film will star Sanjay Dutt and Prakash Raj in the lead roles. Prachi Desai has been roped in to the role played by Trisha in the orignal.
"Yes, we've roped in Prachi Desai for the character essayed by Trisha. But, several changes have been incorporated in the Hindi script, and the actress will be seen in an entirely new avatar. The film is scheduled to go on floors on July 15. The first schedule will either be shot in Mumbai or Hyderabad" revealed director Ravikumar.
Released in 2003 Saamy did extremely well on the charts. The story revolved around the woes of a sincere police officer who tries to put to an end to crime, corruption and dishonesty.
