(Cover) - EN Movies - Quentin Tarantino's upcoming movie Django Unchained will hit cinemas on December 25 2012, according to reports.
The cult director hasn't released a film over the Christmas period since Jackie Brown in 1997, and the drama will be up against some stiff competition at the box office.
Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, Ang Lee's Life of Pie and J.J. Abrams' Star Trek: The Next are all believed to be scheduled for the end of 2012, but the studio backing the film, The Weinstein Company, seem confident it won't be a problem.
While the cast hasn't been officially confirmed, a stellar line-up is expected to bring the film to life.
Austrian actor Christopher Waltz, who starred in Tarantino's last movie Inglourious Basterds, is tipped to bag a lead role, while Samuel L. Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx are all said to be in talks with the cult director.
While there is speculation about the plotline of Django Unchained, it is believed to have taken inspiration from spaghetti western' Django. Tarantino's movie is said to be set in Southern America and tells the story of a freed slave who chases criminals for profit after being mentored by a German bounty hunter. (C) Cover Media
