The fond Robin Williams, turns a year older!

21st July 2012

Robin Williams who turns 61 today, is a Hollywood legend. He has won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his stellar performance in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting. He has also won two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammy Awards. Yes, that is Robin Williams!

To many Robin Williams is a comedian, an actor par comparison, but for me Robin Williams is the actor from JACK, who made me cry. He is the voice in Happy Feet, the reverend in License to Wed and the Wallace in August Rush. Robin Williams may be the soft, brilliant actor people call him, but for me he is the inspiration behind apna Munna bhai, through his impeccable performance in Patch Adams.

Robin Williams is the actor who sings, dances, campaigns and debates. He is he reason our childhood was filled with 'Honey, I Shrunk The Kids' and 'Flubber'. He is also the once Disney icon and our favourite cowboy superhero. And ofcourse, he is our favourite Jumanji star who keeps us in the world of Adventures!

Robin Williams hasn’t released a film in 2 years. He hasn’t acted in one, he hasn’t shown the world of Hollywood how he can still make his viewers laugh and cry and do them both at the same time. But Robin Williams will always be my Hero, he will be that liveliness Hollywood needs, that emotion that movies need to stand for!

This July 21st, I wish the prodigy Robin Williams a very happy birthday. It is on moments like these, we grab the opportunity to rekindle all those memories the star has given us through his momentous films.

FridayMoviez hopes that Robin William’s Hollywood fable is not yet over! We wish him a great year ahead!
