The real struggle happened after 'Slumdog Millionaire' reveals Freida

We've witnessed the journey of many stars, their stories from dust to dawn and the struggle which shaped them as a better star. We have heard them all.

But it is not very known that for people who begin their career on a high too, it is equally difficult for them to sustain their success. Internationally renowned Indian star Frieda Pinto is a living example of the same.

The dusky beauty made her debut with a brief role in the multi-Oscar winning Danny Boyle's film 'Slumdog Millionaire'. The film got her instant success as she became an international star overnight.

But if Frieda is to be believed, the real journey to her career started after that. "The real struggle happened after 'Slumdog Millionaire'. Before that, it was 'will I get my foot in the door, and a chance to do what I really want to do?', but it happened in a say that I was starting from top. And the fall from the top is the hardest and it hurts the most," she said.

However the actress had her feet firm on the ground and was very patient with the hard realities of the stardom. The actress took it real slow and was glad that she didn't give in the temptation to do commercial films after her initial success.

"In order to avoid the fall from top, and to cushion it, I had to work hard to find meaningful projects. So, instead of choosing commercial projects which I could've easily done, I chose to do other projects, much smaller films," said the actress who later in her career got the opportunity to work with renowned filmmaker Woody Allen as well.
