(Cover) - EN Star Style - Tilda Swinton has revealed she'd rather be "handsome for an hour" than "pretty for a week".
The Academy Award-winning actress is famed for her androgynous fashion choices and minimalist approach to style.
The 50-year-old star has graced the front cover of W magazine's August edition donning her usual masculine style.
Tilda, who is wearing a Salvatore Ferragamo silk velvet tuxedo jacket, Acne trousers, a Patricia Underwood for Chris Benz hat, and Sermoneta gloves on the cover, has credited her father, Major General Sir John Swinton, as her fashion inspiration.
"From childhood, I don't forget more about his black patent, gold livery, scarlet-striped legs, and medal ribbons than I do of my mother's evening dresses," she told the publication. "I would rather be handsome, as he is, for an hour than pretty for a week."
Tilda also credits singer David Bowie as her style muse. The British star is renowned for his eccentric dress sense, and Tilda says she identifies with him completely.
"David Bowiewhom I've been orbiting ever since I saw The Man Who Fell to Earth in 1976and my father, Major General Sir John Swinton. They are individuals with whom I share the same planetary DNA," she added. (C) Cover Media
