Time to salute the Giant – Dr. Kasaravalli

The winner of the highest number of Golden Lotus', Padmasri Dr. Girish Kasaravalli, has completed 60 years of his life this year. The winner of the Golden Lotus for 'Ghatashradda', 'Thabarana Kathe', 'Thai Saheba' and 'Dweepa' Kannada films at the national level, has been crowned the 'Padmashri' by the central government.
To celebrate his 60th year, the Karnataka Sahitya Academy, in association with the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, Suchitra Film Society and KV Subbanna Aptha Samooha have jointly organized a two day Dr. Girish Kasaravalli films seminar, analysis and screening in Bengaluru. Dr. Girish Kasaravalli films will be deeply discussed by well known writers and thinkers.
The two day event will be held at Suchitra Film Society on 18th and 19th of June. The inauguration will be done by Dr. U.R. Ananthamurthy, a Jnanapeeth award winner. TS Naghabharana will inaugurate the photo exhibition. Prof. Krishnaiah and national award winner Manu Chakravarthy will be present. Dr. Girish Kasaravalli's films and Karnataka cultural politics are the first topics at the seminar. It will be addressed by N Vidyashanker.
Dr. GK's documentary on KK Hebbar will be discussed by Anilkumar. The book 'Gulabi Talkies' will be released by Dr. UR Ananthamurthy. A discussion with Dr. GK will be participated by Prof. MH Krishnaiah, Dr. Ananthamurthy, Prof. TP Ashok and KV Akshara, Manu Chakravarthy and BS Lingadevaru. The seminar will continue for the second day in which Manjunath, MS Nagaraja Rao, B Suresha and Deepa Ganesh will participate.
