What seemed like an Impossible Mission was finally accomplished. Tom Cruise and team MI:4 came to India for the promotion of the latest Mission Impossible film- Mission Impossible: 4 Ghost Protocol.
Since the day he arrived in India, his entire itinerary has been tracked by the media and the public alike. But yesterday, i.e. The 4th of December was a special treat for Tom Cruise fans. Jerry McGuire aka Ethan Hunt aka Tom Cruise was in Mumbai, with his fans in flesh & blood. Anil Kapoor, Tom Cruise and Viacom 18 hosted a special screening where the biggest Tom Cruise fans got a chance to see the film much before the release of the film. As many as 1500 people were given this golden opportunity to meet Tom Cruise.
The special screening which was held at IMAX Wadala, saw a packed audience of fans & media. Tom Cruise was not only extremely humble, but he gave autographs and posed for photographs with each and every one present there. In fact, his PR was continuously reminding him to hurry up as he had a flight to catch, he nevertheless made sure none of his fans were left disappointed.
His visit to India maybe was a short one but this small trip has made him fall in love with India, Indian food and Bollywood. "I love India. It is superb to be here. India is beautiful, Indians are beautiful. It was great working with Anil Kapoor, he is really funny," he said.
But it was not just Tom Cruise who was getting all the cheer and attention. The leading lady of this action flick- Paula Patton also received a warm welcome with fans screaming out her name and asking for her autographs. When asked about her visit to India she said, "I always wanted to come to India but I couldn't visit Taj Mahal as I was here for less than 24 hours but I will surely love to come back again. But how much ever I have seen about India, it is fantastic. I love the people here, the food and such a warm welcome." Paula who has recently given birth to a son was still chosen for this action-oriented role. "It was great, exhausting but super fun. I am honoured that they chose me as getting back in shape after the pregnancy was a challenge but it was not only physically rewarding but also mentally rewarding. I am so glad that i got to work with Tom Cruise. What an experience!" she exclaimed.
Working with our own "Jhakaas" actor Anil Kapoor was a great experience for both of them. Both Paula & Tom described him as a superb actor and a very funny man. Ever since Anil Kapoor was signed on for this project, he has been on cloud 9. Even he was present yesterday and completely basked in the glory. "Oh, it is definitely a great opportunity. Tom is a great co-actor and Paula is gorgeous. It has been a superb experience," said Kapoor.
The promotion was a hit and the team from the movie Players also walked the red-carpet after the MI:4 team. Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, dhanush etc... were spotted. Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible fans definitely got a once in a lifetime opportunity on a lazy Sunday evening.
