Tom Cruise is asking for "meaningful, significant contact" with his daughter Suri during divorce negotiations.
Katie Holmes filed to legally end her five-year marriage to Tom at the end of last month and asked for sole custody of six-year-old Suri.
The Hollywood pair's legal teams have been in intense talks all weekend, with Tom apparently putting Suri at the heart of the discussions.
"We're told Tom has insisted that the settlement provide meaningful, significant contact with his daughter.' As one source put it, She is the primary concern in his life,'" reports TMZ.
Tom has been shooting his new movie Oblivion lately, with filming currently taking place in The Rocky Mountains in western North America. Katie has reportedly already agreed that once the shoot wraps the 50-year-old star will get some quality time with Suri.
Attorneys for both sides spent all of Saturday locked in discussion. They are apparently trying to work out all the terms of the divorce and aren't just negotiating on short-term points.
Custody, visitation, property splitting and financial aspects are believed to be the main areas being discussed. According to TMZ, both sides hope an agreement will be made which will avoid a lengthy court battle.
Katie and Tom are believed to have signed a pre-nuptial agreement, with claims it could mean the actress is only entitled to $15 million of Tom's fortune.
According to Chicago Sun-Times, the actual figure could be far higher. It's thought Tom's legal team are pressing Katie to sign a confidentiality agreement, which would mean she couldn't talk about their union or Tom's Scientology beliefs in public.
