(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The Twilight Saga: Eclipse leads the nominations at this years MTV Movie Awards.
The popular vampire franchise, starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, has received eight nods, it was revealed today. The third instalment in the movie series is up for prizes including Best Movie, Best Kiss and Best Fight.
Roberts role as brooding vampire Edward Cullen has earned him a Male Performance nomination and he is up against his co-star Taylor Lautner, Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe, Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg and Zac Efron for Charlie St. Cloud.
Kristen is in the running for Female Performance, but faces stiff competition from Emma Watson for her role in Harry Potter, Emma Stone for Easy A, Just Go With It star Jennifer Aniston and Natalie Portman for her Oscar-winning performance in Black Swan.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse also received two nominations in the Best Kiss category one for the lip lock between Robert and Kristen and another for the smooch between Taylor and Kristen.
Following closely behind The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is sci-fi blockbuster Inception with seven nominations, while Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One has received six. Eclipse will battle it out with Inception and the latest Harry Potter film to be named Best Movie. Oscar-winning dark dance thriller Black Swan and The Social Network have also been included in this category.
Tom Felton, Leighton Meester, Mickey Rourke, Ned Beatty and Christoph Waltz are all in the running to be named Best Villain.
Justin Bieber has received his first nomination at the awards ceremony, earning a nod in the Best Jaw-Dropping Moment category.
A new prize has been introduced this year Best Line from a Movie. This category pits the likes of Jesse Eisenberg in Social Network against James Franco for 127 Hours, Tom Hardy in Inception and Natalie Portman for Black Swan.
Voting for the categories opens online today at MovieAwards.MTV.com and will remain open until June 4. However, viewers can vote for their favourite movie until during the live awards show.
Jason Sudeikis will host the ceremony, which will take place on June 5 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
