Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been summoned by the federal court of Los Angeles over a controversial slogan in 1984.
Big B was summoned for allegedly raising a slogan of 'Blood for Blood', following the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Hundreds of them were killed in these riots in 1984.
A member of the US based human rights group Sikhs for justice, Gurupatwant Pannun has filed a petition based on it.
Jagdish Kaur, who lost her husband and son in this riot said, "I watched the live relay on Doordarshan and saw Amitabh Bachchan shouting the slogan, 'Khoon ka badla khoon se lenge!'. And everyone who saw the live telecast would know how Amitabh Bachchan provoked the riots."
The actor has 21 days to respond.
