Looks like UTV Motion Pictures is eyeing a bigger place in the Tamil film industry. After releasing Vikram's Deiva Thirumagal, Cheran-Prasanna starrer Muran and signing a three film deal with Lingusamy's Tirupathi Brothers, the corporate house has now tied up with actor-filmmaker Sundar C for his forthcoming directorial venture.
Titled Masala Cafe, the film will mark the comeback of Sundar to direction. A popular director with back to back hits, Sundar took to acting with Thalainagaram five years back and was busy standing in front of the camera. Taking a break from acting, he is set to wield the megaphone for Masala Cafe.
The film stars young actors Vimal, Mirchi Shiva, Anjali and Santhanam, among others, a press statement said. Targeted at the youth, Masala Cafe will release in the summer of 2012. Shooting will commence in Kumbakonam and Chennai in November, he added.
Masala Cafe, a romantic comedy as it is touted to be, will be co-produced by Sundar's wife and popular actress Kushboo under their home banner, Avni Cinemax. "I am happy to forge a partnership with UTV Motion Pictures who are known for marketing movies in a grand way", said Sundar.
