Vadivelu was surrounded by reporters and fans, when he arrived at Dindigul Magistrate Court on Wednesday, to appear in a case filed against him for allegedly violating poll code during his campaign for the Assembly elections last year.

The top comedian of Tamil film industry jumped the political fray last year all of a sudden, by offering his support to the then ruling party DMK. He toured all over Tamil Nadu in a short span of time and garnered votes in favour of DMK candidates.

During one such election campaign at Dindigul, the actor and DMK activists reportedly violated election code of conduct which was in force then. Following this, officials filed a case against Vadivelu and DMK office bearers.

When the case came up for hearing on Wednesday, Vadivelu made his appearence in the Court. Talking to reporters, he said he would soon start his comeback film, which would feature him in the lead role. 'I have finalised the script,' he said.
