The actress plays Blondie in the action-fantasy, which is about a girl who has been institutionalised by her evil stepfather. Many of the scenes were harrowing, and took a huge toll on the cast. The film also stars Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone and Jamie Chung, and they all took comfort in food to get them through.

Some of the scenes were really intense. I havent done that much heavy drama before and some scenes were just so draining, Vanessa explained to Total Film. We would all be a total disaster afterwards and cheat on our diets together and eat cake to comfort ourselves!

Vanessa is renowned for her toned figure, which has won her legions of male fans. It has also helped her modelling career, with the star recently unveiled as the new face of popular US fashion brand Candies. (C) Cover Media
