(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Vanessa Williams is jealous of her Desperate Housewives character's love life.

Vanessa portrays seductive Renee Perry in the hit US television drama series, and has just returned to begin shooting season eight.

The star, who has been married twice in the past but is now single, admits she is envious of Renee's love life. Without wanting to give much away, she says the upcoming season will see the character enjoy more romance.

"Nothing, I wish I had. I got no one," she lamented when the Kyle and Jackie O radio show quizzed Vanessa on her love life.

The 48-year-old actress is excited about returning to her role on the show alongside fellow castmembers such as Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria. Vanessa dodged questions about whether season eight could be the final, instead simply insisting that "everyone looks fantastic".

The actress also took the time to discuss her colleagues, explaining that Marcia, who plays busybody Bree Van de Kamp, is very different to her television alter ego. Vanessa added that she gets along well with all her castmates, as she's so laidback.

"I came in season seven. I heard stories but they were all so wonderful to me, they welcomed me. I say I'm like Switzerland. I get along with everybody, I'm neutral," smiled Vanessa.

"Marcia Cross is very relaxed, natural and sometimes a little clueless in terms of things and Bree is completely uptight and knows everything and has everything under control. Marcia is so freewheeling." (C) Cover Media
