Vidya Balan will start shooting for her next film earlier in June this year. The film is titled as 'Begum Jaan' which is a hindi remake of the National Award winning director Srijit Mukherji's Bengali film 'Rajkahini'.

Vidya will be playing the title role in the film. The film is based on the partition of India and Bangladesh. It also deals with the problems faced by the sex workers after the partition when they eventually become homeless.

The director said, "For Bengal and Punjab, the Partition is a heartbreaking saga. I wish more movies would be made on this topic."

The film rolls on June 10, 2016.
