Exactly a year ago filmmaker Karan Johar with his tweet announced about signing Sidharth Malhotra for his next untitled. KJo Tweeted,''Time to relive-Yeh Dil Mangey More@DharmaMovies & Shabbir Boxwala collaborate to present the true story of bravery & patriotism-the chronicles of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra@S1dharthM in the lead as Sher Shah Vikram Batra Vishnu Varadhan to direct WrittenBy Sandeep Shrivastava." As his announcement marks a year, KJo gave further details about the project.

Titled 'Shershaah' it is a flick based on true story of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra. Directed by Vishnu Varadhan, starring Kiara Advani as the leading lady; the film went on floors confirmed Johar. 

He Tweeted, "Beginning the journey of #Shershaah soon! @SidMalhotra @Advani_Kiara @vishnu_dir #HirooJohar @apoorvamehta18 @b_shabbir #AjayShah #HimanshuGandhi @dharmamovies," sharing an image with the cast, director and producers details. 

Excited actor Sidharth wrote on his Twitter handle, "Excited to play Vikram Batra, a real-life hero on screen! Titled - #Shershaah! Shooting begins soon 🎥@Advani_Kiara @vishnu_dir @karanjohar #HirooJohar @apoorvamehta18 @b_shabbir #AjayShah #HimanshuGandhi @DharmaMovies"

Kiara too Tweeted, "Super excited & thrilled to be a part of this one! Can't wait for #Shershaah shoot begins soon!  @SidMalhotra @vishnu_dir @karanjohar #HirooJohar @apoorvamehta18 @b_shabbir #AjayShah #HimanshuGandhi @dharmamovies."
