The music of Osthi, a film starring Simbu aka STR in the lead role, was launched in Chennai on Wednesday evening by Vijay, at a grand function attended by the who’s who of the Tamil film industry.

The highlight of the event was however Vijaya T Rajendhar, Simbu's father, who performed live on the stage crooning some wonderful songs. "I am proud of my son. He is a master of all trades", Rajendhar said, amid huge applause from the fans.

Silambarasan thanked everyone who had supported him in Osthi, which is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster Dabangg. "I am indebted to the producer and the director. My thanks also goes to music composer Thaman S, who has come out with stunning songs", he said.

KS Ravikumar, Nassar, K Bhagyaraj, Jai, Richa Gangopadhyay and Premji Amaren were some of the celebrities present. The film directed by Dharani and produced by T Ramesh of Balaji Real Media in association with Reliance Entertainment, is set to hit the screens soon.
