A bailable warrant has been issued against Sanjay Dutt for not appearing in the court for a case filed against him back in 2013 by a film producer Shakeel Noorani. The case was related to monetary issues between Sanjay and the producer. According to the producer, Sanjay was to play the lead role in the film titled 'Jaan Ki Baazi', but did not keep his word. The producer even said that he got threat calls from underworld on behalf of Sanjay to drop the case.

Noorani's lawyer said that despite several attempts, the actor did not turn up in the court due to various reasons. While all the reasons were justified back in 2013, Noorani and his lawyer then approached the magistrate court which issued a summon to the actor. Even after Sanjay came out of the jail, he was supposed to be present in the court on February 7, 2017 which was also the last date of the case, but he didn't turn up at that time as well.

While the official statement of Sanjay Dutt's lawyer says, "This case has been going on since a long time and the present situation has arisen because of the communication lapse between our lawyers and us. We respect the urgency shown by the honourable court regarding our attendance/representation and we would take immediate measure to rectify the situation."
