The trailer has such a vast cast and it softly picks some stereotypes from Bollywood especially the one where Riteish Deshmukh trolls Karan Johar by reminding him that the last time he acted turned out to be a disaster named 'Bombay Velvet'. Riteish is also seen pulling KJo's leg and challenging him by saying anyone can make a great film with stars like Shah Rukh Khan, if you take me as an actor and then show your direction skills by making it hit, that's what a real film-maker is, urged Ritiesh. There are ample of dialogues that can make you giggle, and the major attraction of the trailer is its vast ensemble star cast.
We witness Sonakshi Sinha as a 'dhinchak designer' and Diljit Dosanjh as a 'Gabru, whereas Karan will play a double role?, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta. Baahubali star Rana Daggubati and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story actor Sushant Singh Rajput also appear in the trailer.
In the trailer, we can also see some actual footage of the IIFA awards held in New York last year. Director Chakri Toleti, who pulled off a casting coup of sorts, said in a statement: "We have an extraordinary cast in our film, but the beauty is how they complement each other. It was a pleasure working with such talented actors, especially in comedy, timing is everything."
So sit back and watch this quirky 'Welcome to New York' trailer here.
