Although she was by SRK's side consistently during the promotions of the film, she had to give this event a miss for professional reasons.
"Deepika had a prior commitment to shoot for an ad in Milan. The shoot had been planned four months ago. Despite her keenness to attend Shah Rukh's party, it was always known that she wouldn't be able to make it. She had informed him about the same," says an insider close to Deepika.
The trip couldn't be postponed as immediately after her return, Deepika needs to wrap up
'Ram Leela' and move on to the first schedule of
'Happy New Year' (also co-starring SRK). She also has
Homi Adajania's short film
'Finding Fanny Fernandes' to shoot for.
"This is the only small window that Deepika saw in the middle of her cramped shooting schedule. So she couldn't have shifted it," adds the insider.
