November 9, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Word in the Bengali film industry says that it is easy for a Rituporno Ghosh leading lady to walk home with the National Award. Going by statistics, it surely seems so. Be it Rituparna Sengupta or Indrani Halder, most of the actresses of a Rituporno Ghosh production have walked home with the National Award. This year too, it was Ananya Chatterjee who came through as the lucky girl on the National Awards platform.
However, it now seems that Ananya Chatterjee is not in a celebratory mood. In spite of the fact that the Bengali girl has won the National Award for the best actress for her role in Rituporno Ghoshs 'Abohomaan', she is not happy about life after her big win. Ask her why and Ananya Chatterjee promptly replies that her win has made her hungry for better roles and since she hasnt come across them as of yet, she is presently jobless!
In a statement to the media, Ananya Chatterjee says that she had spoken to MS Sathyu and Ramesh Sippy during the National Awards night and they had also praised his work, however that praise did not lead to anything fruitful. Often referred to as the tantrum queen of Tollywood, Ananya Chatterjee now feels that people have harbored a misconception about her character.
