(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Will Ferrell says its his goal to make people laugh while shooting a movie scene so its ruined.
The actor is currently promoting his new film The Other Guys, which also features Mark Wahlberg. The two stars play mismatched cops who are desperate to be taken seriously, and Mark enjoyed every second of working with Will. He admits he struggled not to laugh throughout the process, and often suspected Will said things just to make him crack.
There were moments when it was hard to keep a straight face when it was scripted, but it really got hard when we were doing the improvising, which we did on every scene, Mark explained. We would shoot what was on the page and then spend the rest of the day playing around, and you never knew where Will was gonna go. He enjoys making you laugh. Its not like they care if you ruin a take.
Will interjected: Its almost the goal.
Will and Mark know many people find their pairing odd, but they insist it works well in The Other Guys. They explained they are actually much more similar than people realise, which is why they formed such a close bond.
In real life were a lot alike. Were both from the hood, weve both been to jail, Mark deadpanned, referring to his past run-ins with the law.
We both have incredible physiques, Will added to movies.ie. We both used to sing with groups called Funky Bunch. I had my funky bunch, he had his. My guys were called the funky friends, so we were a little different. (C) Cover Media
