Will Ferrell: Im more famous than Pitt

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Will Ferrell was thrilled to voice a character in Megamind because it allowed him to finally topple Brad Pitt.

The comic star plays the title role in the new animated movie, about a super-villain who finds life becomes pointless after he defeats his nemesis, the hero Metro Man. Will has joked he has been in competition with handsome Brad who lends his voice to Metro Man for many years, with both men vying to be the biggest star in Hollywood.

Will is glad he and Brad were both involved in Megamind because it allowed him to prove he is superior even if it was only in the movie script.

"It's no secret that Brad and I have had a long-standing rivalry. I finally saw this as my opportunity to topple him, he joked in an interview with Chicago Sun-Times. "While it definitely happened in this movie, I don't know if it's happened career-wise... yet.

There's only room for one hero, and it's right here!

Even though Megamind is seen as a villain, it later becomes clear he does have a softer side. The 43-year-old star loved playing an animated character with many sides to his personality and believes the story offers an important lesson to adults and children alike. Will hopes people will be more careful about what they wish for after seeing the film.

"In all superhero stories, there's the back and forth between the good and bad forces. What's fun here is that the bad guy finally gets everything he wishes for, and then realises it's an empty promise, Will explained. That's a good message for the kids, and maybe for their parents who will bring them to see the movie, as well." (C) Cover Media
