(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Zooey Deschanel has formally filed for divorce two months after splitting from husband Ben Gibbard.

The New Girl actress listed the date of separation as Halloween, October 31 2011, and blamed the split on "irreconcilable differences".

Zooey and her Death Cab for Cutie rock star husband married in September 2009 and do not have any children.

Financial papers filed in her case obtained by TMZ show that she is worth $3 million and makes an average of $95,000 a month.

"It was mutual and amicable," a source told Us Weekly about the break up. "There was no third party involved."

Back in September, Gibbard spoke about how he had pursued the actress.

"I'd seen her movies and obviously I thought she was very beautiful," Ben gushed to New York magazine. "I was just awestruck that she was even talking to me." (C) Cover Media
