(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Zooey Deschanel often gets confused with singer Katy Perry.

The 31-year-old actress believes that she may look like one of the world's hottest pop stars after an awkward meet with a fan.

While speaking at a premiere party for her latest television show New Girl, Zooey recalled a red carpet encounter that put her and Katy's resemblance into perspective.

"One time I was actually at the Grammys and a girl came up to me and asked for my autograph," Zooey recounted to Extra.

"And then she was like... 'What??' I was like, 'Oh, I know who you're looking for. [Katy]'s over there.'"

Zooey, a singer and songwriter herself, is married to Death Cab for Cutie lead singer Ben Gibbard. Although she has an ardent passion for music, she is delighted to be playing her goofy character Jessica Day.

"[Jessica] is a mixture of adorable and dorky, I guess," Zooey explained. "It's a compound compliment."

Her character Jessica moves in with three men after she catches her boyfriend fooling around with another girl. If Zooey was ever looking for roommates, she would not mind living in male dominated abode.

"Definitely, definitely [can live with guys]. I've always had a mix of guy and girl friends," Zooey said.
